Vitaliy Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, paid a working visit to Chernihiv region. During the trip, the minister met with local farmers and ran a meeting on the development of the agricultural sector, which was also attended by the head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration Vyacheslav Chaus, representatives of local business associations, and scientists.
The high-ranking official also visited the Ichnia Milk and Cannery, where Valentyn Zaporoshchuk (President of PRAVIO Group), Valeriy Artemenko (Chairman of the Board of PJSC IMCC) and Arsen Didur (Executive Director of "Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine") demonstrated to the Minister modern dairy production technologies and ambitious plans to expand production. In particular, the company is actively investing in new facilities, such as a cottage cheese plant and a farm for 4000 cattle.
"I visited the plant and talked to the management. Despite the war, the plant has not stopped. It currently employs about 300 people. The average salary at the enterprise is over UAH 19 thousand. Last year, they paid UAH 28.7 million to the budgets of various levels.
The plans for the next year include the launch of a cottage cheese plant (300 tons per month), for the construction of which UAH 150 million of state funds were raised under the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% program. Also, the construction of a farm for 4000 cattle.
Today, the company exports its products to Asia, Africa, America and Europe. In just 9 months of this year, this amount amounted to 3.3 thousand tons.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy supports the export orientation of Ukrainian processors, as one of our priorities is to open new markets for domestic products. And the management of Ichnianskyi Dairy Canning Plant already has the relevant experience that they can share with their colleagues," said the Minister of Agrarian Policy at his page on Facebook.
The visit of the Minister of Agrarian Policy to the ICAC confirms that the Ukrainian agricultural sector has significant potential for further development. Thanks to investments, innovations and government support, Ukrainian companies will be able not only to ensure the country's food security, but also to become one of the world market leaders.
